About Ben Walker
Honoring Reverend Ben Walker: A Beacon Of Love And Service
Reverend Ben Walker’s legacy shines as a beacon of love and service, illuminating the hearts of those in need.
The Reverend Ben Walker was committed to God’s will that we believe in Jesus Christ and like Paul, he preached faith in Jesus Christ. He embraced and loved all in the close-knit neighborhood–Booker T. Washington Heights and College Heights. His love for the community gave him the vision that the community needed a place to worship. He, along with several others in the community, established the Walker Chapel Baptist Church, a church founded on sharing L.O.V.E. in the community.
He was determined to L.O.V.E. —
- L- Lead Others to Christ,
- O-Organize Community activities to bring Christian harmony to all
- V-Victorious living for all who believe in the will of God through service
- E-Embrace the youth of the community for a greater tomorrow.
Reverend Walker was kind and respected by all in the community. The doors of the Walker Chapel Baptist Church are still open for Sunday worship service. The church is located at 220 Beadle Avenue, Greenwood, South Carolina. Ben Walker passed away in 1964.
